San Jose’s ADEGA Restaurant Hosts First Michelin All-Star Event September 13 in San Jose

San Jose’s ADEGA Restaurant will be hosting the first Michelin All-Star Experience featuring a lineup of Michelin starred Portuguese chefs from four of the world’s Michelin starred Portuguese restaurants.

The highly-anticipated event will showcase two seven-course dining experiences open to the public on September 12 and 14, 2017. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to No Kid Hungry – California.

San Jose’s ADEGA Chefs, David Costa, and Jessica Carreira will curate a tasting menu, paired with select Portuguese wines, along with the following top Portuguese chefs:

• Chef George Mendes of Michelin one-starred Aldea in New York, NY

 

• Chef Alexandre Silva of Michelin one-starred Loco in Lisbon, Portugal

• Chef Pedro Lemos of Michelin one-starred Pedro Lemos in Porto, Portugal

The cuisine of Pedro Lemos has its roots in his early childhood.  He is inspired by memories of his grandmothers:  one working the fields in Bragança; the other selling fish at the markets in Matosinhos.  These, he acknowledges, are the most simple and genuine cuisines.  Therefore, his menu is filled with traditional Portuguese dishes, yet prepared with 21st-century innovation.

Menu items, therefore, represent two significant themes from Portuguese gastronomy, the sea, and the country.  Such delicacies from devil fish and octopus,  to rabbit loin and roasted lamb, make for a unique and pleasurable dining experience.

 

Tasting menus are available in five and seven courses.  Might as well, try it all:

Ravioli stuffed with foie gras
Sea scallop and crawfish with masala
Farm-raised quail, with mushrooms, asparagus & baby apples
Meagre (seabass), cabbage, turnip & chestnut
Suckling pig, special interpretation
Fresh lemon cream in cheese mousse
Bourbon vanilla & raspberries in a sponge cream
